The First Step To Launching A Successful Email Marketing Campaign

Email marketing campaign is email sent from a business to customers or prospects. You can say you run a successful email marketing campaign when you get the recipients to take action or engage with your business, which helps you to get more leads and sales.

To run a successful email marketing campaign, you’ve got to be ready. That means you have everything necessary in place. By doing so, you are destined for success from the first email you send.

The First Step Is Build An Email List.

The most successful email marketing campaigns start with an email list full of qualified leads that are interested in what you have to offer. Build your email list the right way by optimizing your website by converting visitors to subscribers.
On average, 80% of your website visitors will leave your site for good, without signing up to your newsletter. You can use exit-intent popups to convert those abandoning visitors into subscribers and eventually customers.
Other methods to build an email list is leveraging business cards, through giveaways telemarketing, engaging through social media, leverage "email only specials" and  being active on blogs.

Cold Email Marketing Explained

Sending email marketing campaigns is a way to send your subscribers your services or products.

But when first beginning your business online, you might not have a lot of subscribers. This is way the way to go is start using cold email marketing campaigns.

Cold email marketing is sending emails to people who are not in your subscribers list. Instead, it is sending your emails to new targeted people promoting your services.

7 TIPS ON HOW TO INCREASE COLD EMAIL RESPONSE RATES.

1. Do Your Research on Your Target Prospects.
Its very important that you do your research before you reach out to your prospects. It won't make sense if you try to connect with me by saying the wrong things. You must know your prospects. Remember, its not about you at this point. The easiest way to convert a prospect into a valuable customer is by researching them.

2. Make It About the Prospect, Not Yourself.
Remember that these prospects may not have heard about you before and as a result may not want to know how great your company, products or services are. One great approach is for you to politely introduce your self and then switch it up to making the rest of your message about them; how your product or services can improve their businesses or their lives.

3. Add Value.
No matter how good your product or service is, unless you get people to buy in and realize their need, your product/service won’t get far. Until you add immediate value and or, demonstrate what the possibilities your product or service presents, it will be hard for your prospect to be excited about a possible  partnership.

Make Money With Your Email Marketing Campaigns

We all love the idea of having a passive income. If you don't know what passive income is, it is making money while you are sleeping in your bed. But how to achieve this?
In this blog I will share 2 ways to make money with email marketing campaigns.

1. Sharing Affiliate Products.

This is the first and most common used way to make money with your emails.

Of course I am not talking here about spamming! We do not want that and do not encourage this at all!

We are talking about sending cold emails for many people, or what we call prospects, so they might become potential customers.

Let's suppose you want to share an affiliate product for SEO like Semrush, or an email service like Sendgrid. What you want to do is to send like 500 to 1K emails per day as cold emails to drive people to where you are promoting your affiliate links. That simple.

Do not directly send the affiliate links in your email. This is Spamming.

2. Running Ads In Your Newsletter.

Let's go to our email marketing system Mautic. You can see below there are two parts. In the first part you can promote what you normally promote or send in your newsletter.

As seen, there are photos under “Come check us out!” logo. This is the place you can sell for anyone who wants to promote an ad!

This is like posting an ad on your website like Google Adsense. It is not like solo ads, you are not getting paid for the clicks. Here you are getting paid for just placing the ad in your email, and getting a fixed amount of money whether people click the ad or not.

This method is not spamming at all and used by most websites. Just like Quora.

You can see below, Quora asks you when running a paid ad on their website if you want to include your ad in their own newsletter.

2 Reasons Why You Should Have Your Own Email Marketing System

Email marketers often use services like GetResponse and  ActiveCampaign to manage their email lists and send emails; however, if you want to be a professional email marketer, you need to have your own email marketing system.

Let's address the following: what is an email marketing system, and why do you have to own one?

An email marketing system is an email marketing app or software that manages and organizes your email lists and campaigns.

These systems are connected to an SMTP(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server. SMTP is an internet standard communication protocol for electronic mail transmission. Mail servers and other message transfer agents use SMTP to send and receive mail messages.

To make it simple, the email marketing app/software creates and manages emails, and the SMTP service sends those emails over the internet. Together they form an email marketing system!

To be a professional email marketer, you will need your own system working together with the email marketing service you use like Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign,  or you create your own fully functioning system.

3 Reasons You Need Your Own Email Marketing System.

Let's get right into it.

1. Limited Vs Unlimited Subscribers.

Almost all email marketing companies have a limit on subscribers, with your own email marketing system, you don't have to  worry about a subscriber limit.
To have unlimited subscribers, you will have to own a email marketing system.

2. Pricing.

Having your own system  significantly cheaper.
Let's take a look at the standard plan for Mailchimp.
From the above image, you will observe that monthly payments start at $14.99 and are dependent on the amount of contacts on your email list.
There's a big difference in pricing between using a service like Mailchimp and having to run your own system.

To sum it up, with your own email marketing system, pricing is a lot cheaper, you don't have any limit on subscribers, you can send cold emails, you don't have to worry about getting banned, and so on.
You should consider having your own email marketing system.
